FIFA WORLD CUP 2022
9/5/2022

The FIFA World Cup is finally here after a long wait and anticipation. On the 21st of November, the FIFA World Cup 2022 will be held in Qatar. This will be the first World Cup to be staged in the Arab world, and the second World Cup to be held fully in Asia, following the 2002 tournament in South Korea and Japan.

Despite concerns about Qatar's capacity to handle spectators, FIFA has received 3 million ticket requests for the World Cup final and significant demand for some of the tournament's most important group-stage games.

According to a source, 2.5 million tickets have been requested to see Argentina play Mexico at the 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium on Nov. 26. On the other hand, 1.4 million people are expected to attend England's match against the United States the day before at the 60,000-seat Al Bayt Stadium.

After the second phase of ticket sales, the United States, England, and Qatar have received more than 2 million ticket requests for the Nov. 21-Dec. 18 competition. For games where demand exceeds capacity, a random selection will be conducted to distribute tickets.

The FIFA World Cup qualifiers have been drawn from the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre on April 1st. Let us have a look at the grouping details.

Spain and Germany, a combination with five World Cup titles between them, will face off in a rematch of the 2010 World Cup semifinal in the group stage itself. Costa Rica or New Zealand will join the group alongside Japan, which brought Belgium to the fringe of elimination four years ago in Russia.

Group F of the FIFA World Cup 2022 - Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia
Belgium and Croatia are the two European giants in this group, while Canada remains a dark horse.

Luka Modric will face his club teammate Thibaut Courtois, while Canada will aim to advance from the group round and improve its competition record.

Group G of the FIFA World Cup 2022 - Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon
Switzerland, Brazil and Serbia, three of the four countries in this group, were grouped together in the previous edition of the competition. Brazil lost the Copa America to Argentina last year. It will be looking to win an international trophy as soon as possible with Neymar at the helm.

Group H of the FIFA World Cup 2022 - Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon

There will be several rivalries here. Uruguay will face both early in the season after eliminating Portugal in Russia 2018 and Ghana in South Africa 2010.
